Has anyone had laser hair removal, and is it really effective?

I am thinking of getting some facial hair removed, but it is expensive and was wondering is it really as good as they say?

I used to work for a company that did it and I tried it under my arm. It felt like an elastic band snapping on my skin and was really quite painful, also it burned afterwards. Also note, the results are different on certain skin colours and some will burn and hurt afterwards.

Also, it takes several attempts because the hair grows in cycles and it will only work during a certain part of the cycle but no one knows what part of the cycle you are in so they do several over a cycle in the hope that they catch the right part.

Its a game of chance that is costly and sometimes painful, in my own personal experience.

Phone and ask a laser hair removal company if you can have a consultation before booking any treatments.

A decent reputable company will be happy to do this for you.

Hi, my sister had it under her chin and around her neck area, it was very expensive, and resulted in her getting very nasty spots for a month or so, and she still has hair in those areas.

well it is effective but the results are not permanent!they last for 2 to 3 years and itll cost you a lot to get it removed by a laser! its more effective if you have coarse hair ..most effective on the bikini line

I KNOW OF SOME ONE WHO PAYED 1-2K TO HAVE ONE OF HER LEGS DONE, AND WAS SAVING UP TO HAVE THE OTHER LEG DONE. IT WAS EXPENSIVE BUT SHE SAID IT WAS WORTH IT AS SHE ONLY HAD TO SHAVE ONE LEG UNTIL THE SECOND LEG WAS DONE. SHE SAID IT HURT AFTERWARDS FOR A WHILE BUT THE LONG TERM EFFECT IS GREAT (NO MORE SHAVING) LUCKY FOR SOME LOL

I am currently doing it for some facial hair. So far, I've had only one session; hence, it is still too early for me to vouch on its effectiveness. But, for all that I've heard, it's supposed to bring good results, and I'm ready to take the risk after living with such a burden for several years (have been conscious of it since 14 and i'm 22 now!).

You're supposed to wait between 4-6 weeks before the next treatment. I'm waiting for 5 weeks 'cos I can't imagine waiting for longer for the entire treatment to be over (IT TAKES AT LEAST 7 MONTHS IN ALL...THE LONGER THE INTERVAL, THE LONGER THE TREATMENT). Let me warn you that you'll have a few shaved bits on your face, so you might look patchy for a while. The doc said this could be overcome by shaving the entire face (i didn't want to do THAT!) or by camouflaging with makeup after about 24 hours. Well, I did neither. Anyway, it didn't look that bad. Don't we see wierd looking people on a daily basis? I didn't mind looking wierd for a change, actually. Plus, I was asked to wear sunblock, so that kinda camouglaged it a wee bit. Even if your doc says you could pluck in between treatments, I'll say, don't....

I still have several months of this ahead of me, but when I think of the clear skin i'll have later, it all seems worth the trouble. So, I'll say, GO FOR IT!

a friend of mine had her underarm hair removed by laser and she was really pleased. she did say it took a while for it to be complete, and it was painful, but really worth it in the long run. she doesn't have to shave them at all now - lucky girl!

she just thought of all the money and time she'd save in the future and just went to a beautician place that she's been going to for years, and had them done!

the hair on your face is bound to be a lot thinner than hair anywhere else so perhaps it won't take so long or as many sessions. everyone is different though, so get a few quotes and consultations first. remember to go with someone reputable though and that is properly licensed for this sort of thing.

Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.
