Need to unclog drain full of short hair and shaving cream.?

My idiot roomate decided to shave his head and his thick facial hair in the sink and its been clogged for two months now

I've tried all kinds of drain cleaners and they make the water go down but never go away

its too short to get with a zip it or a hanger

ive got bleach sitting in the sink right now which is full of standing water

what can i do

Go under the sink remove the U-Trap remove the hair should be fine...

Dismantle and manually clean the P-trap under the sink. Or use a flexible wire --copper electrical wire

Get yourself some ZEP drain cleaner, let it sit for an Hr, or 2 then giver a good pot full of HOT water. P/s have skin head pay for the cleaner

This drain cleaner goes by the name of Drano in Canada. I am not sure of its equivalent in US. Try it out, it really works. Put half a can in the drain and leave it overnight. The can recommends to leave it for half an hour but leaving it overnight yields good results. Washout with running hot water. The drain would be as good as new. If needed, repeat twice or thrice for best results.

My city will give you a one time supply of cleaner, may want to check it out. But it will clean out anything that your heart desires. We lived in a place where the drains where made of old 1 1/2 water pipe with short radius 90s in it.

You use the whole bottle in one shot and leave it all day for best results. I recommend the same for any declogger you use. The longer it stays in there the more it "eats".

Next time he shaves his head or beard tell him to leave the water running or fill the sink with water. And when done leave water running for a short time. At least one minute. Water is cheap, plumbers and cleaners are not. If that doesnt work make him shave in the toilet. Put a mirror on the bottom of the lid and have at it. You wont clog that drain pipe baby. LOL

But I would check with the city maintenance office first. Why pay for something you can get for free. And this stuff will clean out roots and other living organisms so not to use in septic tank systems.
