If a woman shaves her face (for laser treatment) will the hair grow back thicker and darker?

Getting laser hair removal on my face tomorrow for peach fuzz, really but they told me its their policy that I sahce. I have never waxed or shaved in my life (on my face). I do not have dark, course hair there--just in my opinion too much peach fuzz. I am dying scared. Treatment for this is about 1.5 years--every 13 weeks x 6 treatments. I do not want to end up like the bearded lady. They assure me shaving won't cause darker or thicker facial hair but I am not necessarily willing to 100% trust that. Anyone here have any personal experiences to share?

Well, I would receommend Laser treatment to anyone. Check and see if they use the IPL Cool Laser it's better. I did it and it took 10 treatments for the hair to stop growing. And, I had it done every 6 weeks. I got quicker results. But, each time it grew back it was alot finer then previously. They will tell you to Shave Do Not use the creams or waxing. It will aggrevate the skin. If you shave they will be able to burn the hair from the root. If you use creams or wax before a Laser it actually will stimulate growth. It sounds weird. But trust me.

no.. that's a myth.. it only looks ticker and darker because the base of the hair is think but if you look at it.. it gets thinner as it goes.. so it will only seem darker and thinker, but isn't really.. it's a illusion.

Yes!!! Doing so will cause giant pube-like hair to devour your entire face. Good luck!

It will be darker when it grows out because it has not been bleached by the sun (especially if you do it during winter time)and it will be thicker as it does not grow from the root but from the middle. I would advice you NOT to shave!!!

If you just have peach fuzz why not tweeze it?? How much fuzz do you have??

I would wax if I had to do anything. If you are unsure about what they are telling you I would postpone and talk to a few other places that do what you are needing done.

If a woman shaves her face (for laser treatment) will the hair grow back thicker and darker?

Yes it does, its similar to any other hair on your body. When you shave your legs, the hairs grow back thicker because they're cut off bluntly with a razor. Thats why its better to wax or use removal creams because the hair will grow back finer!

the reason they are telling you to shave is so that they see the hair comming in it does make the hair darker because you are cutting it off blunt.....but as soon as the treatment is over the hair will be gone....because the folicle will be dead so you only have to worry about the beard for 1.5 yrs....just wax it
