Best makeup routine (and products) for fair skin and red hair?

Hi gal,

I cleanse my face at night with a daily scrub from Aveeno -Skin Brightening. I use a moisturizer in the a.m. with 30 SPF - also from Aveeno. I use a richer Oil of Olay in the evening (no spf for sleeping).

I have combination skin and although I do have keratosis pilaris on my arms and a little on my legs, nothing on my face. You may need to investigate a gentle facial cleanser that is antibacterial. I use Cetaphil Antibacterial cleansing bar in shower/bath - body only. It does work on your keratosis. My dermatologist first gave me an antibiotic last year, and a 10 day Rx lotion to apply. She asked that I start using the cetaphil bar and the Cetaphil moisturizer for body. You certainly can try these two on your face, but if it is too drying, I would find another.

My makeup routine is fairly simple. Cleanse, moisturize, put a few dabs of concealer (under my eyes for me). If I want to do extra, I put one pump of primer on my face, with a sheer liquid foundation applied with brush. Dusting of powder. I wear some eyeshadow %26amp; mascara (soft black or brown-black), and usually a pencil liner on top lid. Use an angled brush to fill in my brows (mostly blonde brow) with a subtle taupe eyeshadow. Light blush, and some gloss or neutral lip color.

Best makeup routine (and products) for fair skin and red hair?

I have fair skin and red hair as well. Basically in the mornings I use an exfoliating cleanser (I like the Regenerist one from Olay) and then follow with Olay's daily beauty fluid which had spf 15. I then use Bare Minerals foundation, Revlon's Colorstay eyeliner in Taupe and either gold or brown eyeshadows, then brown mascara (either Great Lash from Maybelline or Naturalle mascara in Ginger Brown from Just For Redheads) or an auburn mascara (either from Bare Escentuals or Just For Redheads). I also use strawberry blonde eyebrow powder from Bare Escentuals, it's the only stuff I've found that actually matches my eyebrows. I don't use blush, my cheeks are naturally red. I usually stay with just a neutral or clear gloss for my lips. In the evenings I use a makeup removing cleanser (I like the Lemongrass one from Booths) and then a good moisturizer (I use Total Effects from Olay).

I have keratosis pilaris on my upper arms and thighs and I use Olay's body wash for Extra Dry Skin along with an exfoliating poof. Once a week I scrub with a microdermabrasion scrub (I like the Green Apple one from Booths) and then moisturize really well with Aveeno body lotion. I've not had it on my face so I'm not sure what would work well there.

My favorite product lines are Just For Redheads and Bare Escentuals, they have colors that flatter my skin the best and have really good quality products.

Do you like it when men dye their hair or get highlights?

I can't stand highlights on men, I'm really not a fan of the meterosexual man. I think they should stay clean, shave their faces, trim 'down there', have a nice short haircut and dress well but more than that I can't handle. The worst for me is when guys get highlights and blow dry their hair. Manicures, pedicures, facials every once in a while I can almost handle but waxing their arms and visiting the hairdresser more than I do. No way! Give me a real man please.

Do you like it when men dye their hair or get highlights?

The thing I really dislike, is men who go to tanning booths!

Eeeeeewww!! this is just so unappealing to me.

I don't want a guy who is THAT into his looks.

Do you like it when men dye their hair or get highlights?

yeeeeckkkhhh.

Straight men are real men.

you must be talking about those girly men.

Personally I will go grey with grace when the time comes

Do you like it when men dye their hair or get highlights?

i dont mind it that much, since i put dye in my hair but my colours arent natural (bright red, anyone?!) otherwise a man who spends too much time on himself can get quite annoying after a while

Do you like it when men dye their hair or get highlights?

No, it looks too feminine. David Beckham is a prime example. Big Jessie

Does having thick straight hair have anything to do with your race?

I'm a Mexican mestizo, I have thick straight black hair. I have family members with wavy, curly, and straight hair. But most of them have straight hair. Most of my family members have Spanish looking facial features. Does having thick straight black hair show my native american ancestry? Are there caucasian people with my type of hair, besides it being black? Thanks for taking the time to read this, its just a random curiosity I have.

Does having thick straight hair have anything to do with your race?

My husband is Mexican he has very straight hair. His twin brother has curly wavy hair. They have some Irish ancestry so I am unsure about that part of your question. But, yes Caucasian people also have thick straight hair, and curly, everyone is different!

Does having thick straight hair have anything to do with your race?

hi tony! yes, our race has everything to do with our hair and more, such as certain facial features are also determined by race. the differences in ones hair, within the same race, is determined by their parents, heredity. i hope this helped with your random curiosity! :)

Does having thick straight hair have anything to do with your race?

Many middle eastern people have straight black hair.

So do some Irish. And some Dutch.

Does having thick straight hair have anything to do with your race?

No, curly and straight hair have nothing to do with your race--I'm Norwegian and english and I have a sister with thick curly lock and mine is as straight and flat as angel hair pasta. Curly hair I believe is a dominant trait in genetics.

If your mother has dominant curly hair, but also carries the trait for recessive straight hair, and your father carries 2 recessive traits for straight hair then as a possibility, you could end up with straight or curly hair--it all depends on what traits are passed on down the genetic line. This means you have a 50% chance of ending up with curly hair and a 50% chance of getting straight hair--it's all dependent on chance and what traits are expressed by your parents and extended family. Just go look up genetics punnet squares on the net if you want to know more. But that's basically how it works. As far as other features like nose shape, I'm not sure. But that's how it works for eye color, and hair type, color.

Does having thick straight hair have anything to do with your race?

"Race" is an artificial construct. I do not consider it to be a scientific fact, I don't even consider it to be a "convenience" because of all the inconveniences it fosters.

I went to school with several girls who had coarse straight blonde hair. Their faces were broad, their noses were narrow, which I consider to have nothing to do with anything.

It's difficult to most people to attempt to sort out various Native American groups when comparing to Asian groups without benefit of clothing and actual hairstyle as cultural clues. Japanese spies hid with Eskimo in WWII.

Me, I wouldn't presume the hair or "Spanish-looking facial features" to tell tales. Many Native American groups from further north %26amp; east have narrower faces, etc.

An incomplete bite in fruit or whatever might show the presence of "shovel-shaped incisors", characteristic of Native American and Asian ancestry. I had a dentist comment on my teeth at an initial examination. LOL! There was some 'splaining to be done when I got myself home, not me, my parents. :-)

BTW, there's a tradition that it's "good luck" for the first person to cross a family's threshold to have brown or black eyes and be bearing food. I've head it called "first footing".

Does having thick straight hair have anything to do with your race?

Well, certain backgrounds generally have certain features. Very thick straight dark blond for me. But I have no clue what of my heritage it comes from. I'm half convinced that dark blond is "mutt" color. lol

Is there is any solution other than laser treatment to remove permanantly unwanted facial hairs from

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful. Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged. A review of the various hair removal methods is available at

Is there is any solution other than laser treatment to remove permanantly unwanted facial hairs from a women.?

There used to be a treatment with an electric needle pushed in the route of the hair to destroy it; if the aesthetician was not a very skillful one, it used to hurt, swell and look very bad for one day or two; I don't think you would like to use it, would you?

yes electrolysis which is a process of passing current through the cells to destroy production of hair - but its expensive, sometimes painful and time consuming.

There's a product called Vaniqa that is supposed to keep facial from growing back as quickly as shaving or other dipilatories. It requires a prescription. Ask your doctor. Or read up on it first and decide if you want to try it.

Besan can be useful. Use regularly. Generally, for kids born with a lot of facial hair, besan paste is used to rub off. Shaving off may not help you out. Besides ridding you of the hairs it will act as a fairness cream too.

Does anyone know a way to cure razor bumps and ingrown facial hairs?

Once you shave, apply a THIN layer of neosporin over the area you just shaved. Do this each and everytime. This will help the razor burns and in time the ingrown hairs. Also, for the ingrown hairs exfoliate 2-3times per week. You should notice a big difference within 7-10 days or so...

Does anyone know a way to cure razor bumps and ingrown facial hairs?

My husband has the worst problems with shaving- a tough beard, and what he refers to as "tissue paper skin" equals razor bumps galore! We've tried many products, and have found that That Art of Shaving company makes a fab ingrown hair lotion, which was featured in the January 2007 Marie Claire as being a great product, that works very well. It reduces inflammation and improves the skin's texture. It's a bit pricey ($40 for 1.7 oz.), but you don't need to use loads each time, so it lasts a while. Buy yourself a very good razor, even if it cost more than disposables, because it will make all the difference. My husband has been shaving with a light hair conditioner for years, as it really softens the hairs before he shaves. Also, if you can get away with shaving every other day, it'll give your skin a much needed break.

Shave with a sharp, high quality razor every time. Don't use the same razor more than a few times, as they dull fast on a coarse beard. Try shaving after showering and at night. This softens the skin and hair follicles. Your skin can "recover" while you sleep. This should lessen irritation due to daily activities, including sweating and irritation due to clothing. It is also important to shave every day, as this keeps the stubble short and easier to remove. Razor bumps are small infections, like a "superficial pimple". A topical or oral antibiotic might be helpful. I would see a dermatologist for the best one.

Bath %26amp; Body Works has a product called "Over The Bump" from their True Blue Spa collection that targets ingrown hair and razor bumps. It can be used on face, underarms, legs, or bikini areas. All you do is roll it on the targeted area. It is simple and inexpensive. ($15.00 for 2.7 fl oz) I use it every day and have not had a problem since I started using it.

I heard if put unscented deodorant on immediately after it won't be so bad.

Does anyone know a way to cure razor bumps and ingrown facial hairs?

i found that the best way to do it is to let you facial hair grow in for about a month or so or until you notice the bumps disappear (if you have a professional job, trim your beard with an electric razor).when you have reached your desired skin condition, smear cold cream on your beard and through the underlying skin.wait 5 minutes and shave.use and astringent afterwards then moisturize.it always works.my skin is flawless now

Hi all...are electric tweezers or electrolysis good to remove facial hairs??any reviews on lasers ma

Tried electrolysis a while ago at a salon,VERY painful!Plus not all the hair was dead in one or two sessions,so tried to keep going for more but pain was too intense so had hair bleached with Jolen instead, much less trauma!
